Welcome to our dogscapes blog!

We are Craig & Jan Jones and we love dogs. We live in San Diego, a place where dogs rule! There are dogs everywhere! This blog is a perfect way for us to share our love and appreciation for all types of dogs doing all kinds of things. By photographing dogs in their environment, enjoying their day-to-day activities, this blog is meant to delight, inform, excite, and entertain you.

Our dogscapes website has information and images of dogs we photograph for their loving families. The contemporary, natural light approach of photographing dogs in their favorite environments gives each of our images a unique look and creates a photographic appreciation that truly captures memorable moments.

Have fun here...enjoy the blog, feel free to comment on your favorites!

Summer’s On

The 4th Annual Loews Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition was held on Saturday in San Diego at Imperial Beach.  Dogs and owners were having fun and the crowd really enjoyed the action.

Nothing like a day at the beach!

Pugmania

These friendly, playful pugs were more than happy to be outside together for their photo session.  The girls  Zoe, 2 and Mia, 3 were joined by Gucci and Xena, 4 year-old sisters, that makes four, but there were 5 altogether and it wasn’t easy telling them apart…

except for 5 month old, Louie, the only boy in the bunch.  Isn’t he the cutest?

We had a wonderful time meeting Monica and her family and those 5 pugs were a

pleasure to photograph. The more pugs the merrier!  Thanks, Monica.

More Ruby & Burner

These two have a great lookout from the front door. They were more than ready to get to Coronado Island’s dog beach.

It’s easy to tell when puppies have had enough play!

Burner & Ruby

Coronado Island is home for these 2 incredible golden retriever puppies.  Burner, 6 months old and Ruby, 9 months old kept busy watching family activities… both inside and out.

Time for a rest on the porch before we headed to the beach for more great photos.

Thanks Mary, kids and Grandma for a fun afternoon in beautiful Coronado!

Dakota

This close-up is a winner…here’s Dakota holding a favorite tennis ball with a smile.

Gigi

Balboa Park provides so many interesting locations for photographs.  This colorful spot makes a great backdrop for Gigi, who was intent on watching busy birds in the area.

Sugar

Her name, “Miss Judge Sugarlips” couldn’t be more fitting.  She’s got some real chops!

Dakota

This one year old exuberant golden was full of fun, running and playing on his beautiful, 2 acre hilltop grounds in Fallbrook.  After lots of exercise, and having a very thick, gorgeous coat, it took a while to cool down and relax with a great smile.

Dakota’s got lots to be happy about…thanks Kjell!

Petopia.TV

At dogscapes, we are so happy to be a part of the San Diego dog community and our commitment is always to give back to dogs in need of homes.  Craig is a volunteer and we are business partners with the Helen Woodward Animal Center.  Recently, Petopia.tv wanted to do a story on dogscapes involvement in helping hard-to-place dogs find homes with great adoption pictures.  Enjoy the clip!

Remember…come out to see us at Woofstock this Saturday, the 11th at Balboa Park from 9-2pm!

Gimme Some ‘Sugar’

This sister and brother couldn’t get enough of their big, beautiful 20-month old English mastiff, Judge ‘Sugar’ Sugarlips.   They romped and played until the kids were tired, but the pooch was still fresh for her final close-up.

Thanks you guys for a fun-filled family session!
